Honourable fellow students,
There are two conferences coming up; BAKMUN 2011 and SANMUN, and we encourage you to attend them. I have attached an information sheet about MUN, MUNK, BAKMUN 2011 and SANMUN 2011. This is the same information that you can find in the hall way (on “elevlagstavlen”) on the first floor.
As stated in the information sheet, you have to sign up before 5 September. If you have any further questions, please contact us.
We sincerly hope that you sign up for these conferences, and that we are going to have a lot of fun together!

The Model United Nation of Katta, is more than welcome to wish you all a very warm welcome to the new school year. We really look forward to this shcool year as we hope to receive in more new member, and to make great things ahead of us. We truely hope this year will be a great year, and that it will contribute to our welbeing at school.

Mock debate before the UNIS-UN debate
Hello everybody, and happy new year!
As you know, Katta sends six students to the UNIS-UN conference in New York this March. However, more than six of you are going to apply to Julia Kagge January 8th. That is why she is going to arrange a debate. In this debate, appropriate vocabulary, being able to formulate opinions and making good arguments is really important.
MUNK is going to arrange a mock debate early in week 2, so that you can get an opportunity to fresh up your debate skils. More information about time and place will be avaliable soon. Look for posters on boards in the hallway and class rooms!
Become a delegate at BAKMUN 2009!
We still want YOU to be a part of BAKMUN 2009. This one day conference will take place at Katta Sunday October 18th.If you have any questions about this conference, just ask any Board members, and we will gladly answer them.
If you do not want to debate, we also need admin staff. Then your job will be to cook or to be in one of the three committees.
BAKMUN 2009 and SANMUN 2009
MUNK will be participating in BAKMUN, their first MUN-conference of the school year, on Sunday, October 18th. MUNK will also be participating in their second MUN-conference of the year, SANMUN, the first weekend in November (7th-8th). Are you interested in joining? Just write your name and contact information on one of the participation lists and contact Elisabeth Stenseth (3D) or Jørgen Tresse (2A) if you have any questions. Assembly Meeting
The first Assembly Meeting will take place Monday August 31th.
Our original plan was to have it Monday 24th, but it has been moved due to the closet sale (“skapsalget”) which takes place next week. The room is the same: “Elefantrommet” 206 and the time is still from 1135 to 1230.
The presentations of the student societies
MUNK hopes that you enjoyed the presentation of the student societies today. After the presentations, we were thrilled to see that many students showed their interest about the Model United Nations of Katta. This gives us reason to believe that there will be a lot of fruitful debates and cooperation during this school year.
We will see you all at the meeting on Monday, and bring your classmates.
The start of the MUNK year
The board of Model United Nations of Katta hopes that you have enjoyed your summer vacation, and that you are ready for a new school year.
During this year you have the possibility to attend to conferences both in Norway and abroad. Additionally will we arrange sessions outside the conferences.
The fall meeting of the Assembly will take place this coming Monday (August 24th) during lunsh. At the meeting will we give you further information about Model United Nations of Katta and elect board members. The place of the meeting is most probably going to be “Elefantrommet” in the second floor.
